Keith joins us from a long and respectable history in the Hotel and Restaurant Industry. Keith is a graduate of the Catering College in London, England, where he received a degree in Hotel and Catering Management. Keith immediately worked as a chef and manager for 10 years for various Hotels and Restaurants in and around London. In the year 2000, he started Celtic Catering, an Outdoor Catering Company, catering for weddings and corporate events, which became the premier Caterer in Lake Tahoe. He sold this business in 2006. Keith currently owns and operates Murphy’s Irish Pub and the Rockwater Restaurant. This led Mel to develop a business model to: (1) provide quality decision making information to buyers at their finger-tips using website technology, eliminating a major time consumer for business brokers who spend far too much time on the front-end early part of the buying cycle shuffling paperwork and faxes with buyers, and not enough time on the important part of the sales cycle - after a buyer has seen the business and obtain key information and then calls the broker, which is the most critical contact point in buying cycle; (2) to provide our clients, the Sellers, with quality brokers who have the knowledge and experience to broker their restaurant, which is among the more complicated businesses to broker, provide our Seller's with results based advertising, and be responsive to our client's needs through good communications, and: (3) finally, to be on the cutting-edge of technologies helping sell our clients properties. The restaurant and retail industry fit together well with his model whereby buyers could easy obtain information about the business from a well thought through website and would be able to visit the business without a broker being involved and slowing down, or worse yet, stopping, the interest of the buyer. To accomplish these goals Mel acquired Paramount Restaurant Brokers, Inc. in 2003 and purchased the name SellingRestaurants.com. In early 2004 Sellingrestaurants was launched. This business model has been so successful that SellingRestaurants in four short years is now the largest restaurant broker not only in California, but the nation in terms of number of restaurant listings, sales transactions, number of agents, area covered and website traffic. SellingRestaurants has close over $50 million of deals in 4 years. Mel is an accomplished business intermediary and leader having completed over $12 Billion of merger and acquisition transactions at the fortune 50 level.
